Back again and more competitive than ever is the Best of Yunnan competition semi-finals on March 20 and finals March 21 at YCE’s state of the art lab in Pu’er. A panel of Chinese Q-qualified judges will select the 36 samples from more than 120 entries from eight Yunnan growing regions to move to the final round to rank the top 12.
The coffees are carefully picked and processed using washed, natural, or honey methods – each designed to bring out the best of the coffee. In previous years, finalists finished with scores as high as 85.
Coffees will be available for cupping during the expo.
Being held in China for the first time, The World Siphonist Championship will be an event to remember. Finalists from 12 participating countries will compete for the world title, preparing 3 blended siphon coffees and 3 signature beverages within a 15 minute time limit
The Japan Siphonist Competition (JSC), hosted by the Specialty Coffee Association of Japan (SCAJ) began in 2003 and expanded to the World Siphonist Championship in 2009.
